A major political development has emerged within the All Progressives Congress in Edo State as House of Representatives aspirant, Blessing Agbomhere Esq., has officially withdrawn from the race for the Etsako Federal Constituency seat following the intervention of Governor Monday Okpebholo and the leadership of the party in the state.

In a widely publicised press release by “Blessing Agbomere Meadia” and obtained by Embassy66 News, Agbomhere announced his decision on Friday, May 15th declaring total support for the re-election bid of incumbent lawmaker Anamero Sunday, popularly known as Danco.

The move followed an appeal by Governor Okpebholo, who reportedly urged all aspirants to step down in support of continuity and a second term for elected officials under the APC platform.

Agbomere premised his decision on the basis of “party unity and loyalty above personal ambition”.

“Our Governor has asked all the aspirants to step down and support Hon. Anamero Sunday for second tenure because he believes in continuity. I have obliged because I remain loyal to my Governor and the APC,” he stated.

Supporters of the APC across Etsako Federal Constituency have also been urged to remain peaceful, united, and committed to the party’s victory in the forthcoming election.
