The Supreme Court and the judiciary have once again proven to be arbiter for settling dispute. With today’s pronouncement arising from the two separate appeals filed by ADC and PDP, more issues seems to have evolved . In effect, the court affirms supremacy of party’s Constitution.

Embassy66 News had profoundly published a story by our columnist (Oseni Momodu) some few days ago about the subject matter where he quoted the famous opinion of Oliver Wendell Holmes that “the prophencies of what the courts will do in fact and nothing more pretentions are what l mean by the law”. Supreme court is indeed supreme.

However, our concern lies in the fact that time is still fast running and the Appeal itself is interlocutory one which renders the whole legal battle continous rather than conclusive. The apex court asked David Mark led faction to revert to the substantive matter at the lower court while it dismissed appeal filed by Taminu Turaki of the PDP.

In the circumstance, while the ADC may now jubilate temporarily, the Electoral chances of their would-be candidates still remained convulated. This is so even after general election. See Marafa v. APC in Zamfara State 2019.

Consequently, our humble opinion for aspirants contesting 2027 polls under ADC is to bear in mind the uncertainty that lies ahead even if the candidates win at the general elections. The gamble is on a 50-50 chances success.
