Against grownig propaganda Senator Adams Oshiomhole is not returning to the Red Chamber of the Nigeria’s Upper Legislative House, close allies and party echelons within the All Progressives Congress (APC) have confirmed that the former labour leader is the verified consensus candidate for Edo North senatorial seat for 2027. This validation is even more echoed in the body language of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the APC in Edo state superintendent by Emperor (general) Jarret Tenebe.
That Oshiomhole is returning is as sacrosanct as day and night interchange which must prevail daily whether devil likes it or not regardless of human machinations. It is sealed by the party (APC) and approved by the Almighty.
Lately, array of concerned citizens across Nigeria have reached out to me expressing vehement concerns while Senator Oshiomhole should return to National Assembly. For numerous reasons, he is outstandingly eloquent. These are people clearly outside his immediate constituency in Edo state. Like the days of Senator Chuba Okadigbo (of blessed memories), the 10th Senate has another Okadigbo in Oshiomhole’s pedigree to navigate complexities of legislative bottlenecks.
Individually, Adams Oshiomhole is admired for varied motives. The man is bold, courageous, outspoken and cerebral, a potential which is uncommon amongst present generation politicians. It is axiomatic that lawyers are learned. Moreso because of their vastness in every branch of knowledge, while lay men are adjudged not. However, Senator Oshiomhole also qualifies as “learned” given his intellectual capacity and leadership assessment in probing public interest issues in diverse measure which Nigerians acknowledges.
Legislative representation requires talent, mastering the language and attracting benefits to the people. A feat which Oshiomhole has assumed. As stakeholder in Edo politics, I have assured my circles Edo people values Oshiomhole very much and so is his Senatorial return ticket. His debut in Edo political space reshaped the dynamics of people’s-centric socio initiatives programs focusing on downtrodden basic needs. Under Oshiomhole, every household in Edo received monthly stipend directly supervised from the Osadebe Government House. As former Governor of Edo state (2008-2016), his impact on the average commoners are still incredibly indelible. A reason for his continous relevance at state and national stage.
What this apparently reflect is that public service is a test of human variants. Anyone who aspires to go far must serve his people genuinely well while on the saddle. They will defend your mandate in absentia as if their lives depends on it. His reelection on 2027 is so certain that even if he decides to stay back in Abuja without visiting Iyamho (his hometown)for consultation and campaign, he will always win. Afterall, his endorsement had been sealed since 2025.
One may ask: did Oshiomhole charmed Edo people? The answer is yes. The human capital investment, infrastructural development, consistency of purposeful leadership, lifting others to the top, good human relations with low and mighty regardless of tribe, etcetera are just a few of such symmetrics.
Humans values who valued them. Honours who honured them but ignore who relegate them. In Edo north, Adams Oshiomhole is a force. All his political lieutenants queue behind him because he is a trusted leader who compensate loyalty, commitment and hardwork.
Like Tinubu’s politics of empowering long term allies in Lagos as Governor which he now consolidate as President, Oshiomhole navigates similar foot step in Edo, a tool he has leveraged in consolidating massive grassroot support base across board. Essentially, these are the fundamentals of politics, not the big grammars that yields no results. The mere hearing of the name “Oshiomhole” echoes motivation and affection. Such reputational characterization is a potent for consolidating power which average Nigerian politicians should aspire for.
As the 2027 election activities commences, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally lifted veil, signaling commencement of political activities starting with party primaries from April 23rd till May 30th 2026 as stipulated in the Electoral Act 2026. Political aspiring individuals are expected to be wrapping up consultations to purchase of Expression of Interest Forms.
Etsako 2027! In Etsako Federal Constituency, the incumbent, Honorable Anamero Dekeri popularly called DANCO is returning too, to National Assembly. His scorecard in the last three years as federal lawmaker is unprecedented in the annals of history of Etsako representation in green chamber. APC party stakeholders have long confirmed and validated this factual position in contradiction to biased and sponsored online based campaigns in some segments to smear his record breaking representation. That’s isn’t good for our democracy.
Adams Oshiomhole in the 10th Senate is a voice who is championing unwavering socio-economic campaign for the interest of Nigerian workers, traders, students, artisans, physically challenged, less privileged, and middle class Nigerians. His return to National Assembly in 2027 isn’t just a exclusive desire for his Edo state adherents, but a clarion coalition of lovers of Oshiomhole nationwide.
A vote for Tinubu, Adams Oshiomhole and DANCO are votes for APC continuity. Hip hip hip…hurray!
